I spent the summer working as a strategic engagement intern with University of Wisconsin-Madison Recreation & Wellbeing. I stumbled upon the position by accident—my only connection to Rec Well (formerly the Division of Recreational Sports) was a friend who worked as an intramural volleyball official. Despite not knowing much about the division, I couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out.
At Rec Well, I worked with dozens of incredibly talented coworkers/now close friends and discovered the fulfillment of working for a university. I loved going to work each day knowing that my work was helping fellow Wisconsin Badgers become their best and healthiest selves.
My key project this summer was planning the Wisconsin Welcome campaign, which welcomed incoming students to campus and introduced them to Rec Well. I wrote email newsletters, drafted social media posts and wrote blog posts. With the start of freshman move-in and Wisconsin Welcome events, some of my scheduled work is beginning to show up on my social media feeds.
Seeing your content published is always exciting, and I haven’t written a blog post in a while, so I thought I would take a few minutes to write this, rave about my summer and share a blog post I wrote for Rec Well’s Wisconsin Welcome campaign.
